Open Rehearsal: Friday, November 19th at 6:30 p.m. Be there!

Polaris Dance Theatre is opening their doors at the Polaris Contemporary Dance Center during their Friday rehearsal for their upcoming REPO performance.  This is a true behind-the-scenes experience and the final open rehearsal before the REPO performance.  Come see the creative process evolve.  Rehearsal begins at 6:30 p.m. and lasts for roughly two hours, ending at 8:30 p.m.  Viewers are welcome and encouraged to come for the whole two hours or casually stop in and leave at their convenience.

As a viewer, you get to experience a raw, uncut and unrehearsed rehearsal.  Watch Founder and Director, Robert Guitron, give real and uncensored edits to the Company dancers.  Watch the Company dancers run the pieces over and over again.  See understudies practicing off to the side and getting tossed into the mix as needed.  Get up close and personal and see how rehearsals are really run.  Unlike most professional dance companies that set a precise showing of their "works in progress" and censor or completely remove the harsh criticism during open rehearsal, Polaris reveals it all.  The Company dancers and Robert stay real, revealing how confident the group is as a whole towards making amazing performance pieces.  To get a sense of how open rehearsals go, check out the November 5th open rehearsal on our facebook group page: video of open rehearsal
